A FORMER local journalist, Alison Gow, has just gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Journalism Leadership from the University of Central Lancashire.

Daughter of Mrs. Ruth Williams and the late Mr. Richard Williams, of Pleasant Valley, Stepaside, Alison is currently employed as executive editor (digital) for Trinity Mirror Merseyside.

In that role, she works mainly for the Liverpool Echo and Liverpool Daily Post.

A former pupil of Pentlepoir School and Greenhill School, Tenby, however, she started her journalistic career locally when she spent a period of work experience with us here at the Observer.

She later moved on to the Western Telegraph, Gloucester Citizen, various newspapers in the Southampton and Portsmouth area, before returning to Wales as assistant editor at the South Wales Argus. For the last eight years she has been at the Liverpool Daily Echo as deputy editor.
