A FORMER Pembrokeshire man, John Prout, managing director of specialist healthcare supplier, Joncare, has recently been appointed to the board of management of the BHTA, the British Healthcare Trades Association.

John was born and bred in Stepaside and attended Narberth Grammar School and his business is now based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

Mr. Prout said: "I am delighted to be offered this position and I see it as an opportunity to give back some of the support the industry has given me over the years."

Ray Hodgkinson, director general of BHTA, told us: "With 33 years in the industry, John has gained extensive expertise in working with therapists and children in the paediatric and adult rehabilitation market.

"As owner of Joncare, a premium brand specialising in seating, standing and mobility, John brings to the board sound retail experience. He was the recipient of the BHTA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2004 and we are delighted to welcome him to the board."
