Film producer/director Joann Randles from Saundersfoot is embarking on producing her first mainstream feature film for international release.
With the working title of ‘Adrian’, Joann, 27, is currently ‘in-development’ of bringing the true story of professional Welsh wrestler Adrian ‘Exotic’ Street to life. From coal miner to international wrestling sensation, it was Adrian’s compelling and dazzling true Cinderella or Billy Elliot story that attracted Joann to make a film on his life. Not only was Adrian a British cultural icon, but his story is one of believing in your dreams and that anything is possible if you put your mind to it.
Currently working as a professional freelancer and executive producer for an independent feature film company based in Manchester, Joann has been involved with the film and TV industry from the age of 14. However, her ambition has always been to produce a mainstream feature film of her own.
Joann secured the image rights to make the film last year and is currently working closely with Adrian, 74, to ensure his story and famous flamboyant character is portrayed accurately.
Joann has also successfully pitched the film for film production finance, however, is currently crowd-funding the initial development finance phase through IndieGoGo and corporate sponsorship.
