The 500-mile journey begins at the Severn Bridge on Friday, September 21, and over the following six days the team will travel between 50 and 100 miles a day in all weather on two Polaris jet skis kindly loaned for the event by E. P. Barrus, of Oxford. Sponsorship for the fuel was given by Westcoast Fireworks, Narberth, and the teams were trained and supported by Tenby Marine.
The team will be stopping at 15 coastal towns along the way to raise further funds for this worthy cause. On Friday they will depart Beechley (9 am), calling in Cardiff (11.30) and Swansea (3.30). The journey continues on the Saturday calling at Saundersfoot (11.30), Tenby (1.30) and Dale (5) and on the Sunday, Fishguard (11.30), Cardigan (12.30) and Aberystwyth (5.30). At Cardigan they will be escorted up the estuary by world speedboat champion Jonathan Jones.
On the Monday the team travel around the Llyn peninsula calling at Barmouth (11), Pwllhelli (1) and Caernarfon (5). The jet skiers will then take the longer route going around Anglesey visiting Holyhead (11) and Conwy (3). The final leg takes in Llandudno (11.30), Rhyl (12.30) and Connahs Quay (3).
Round Table Children's Wish grants wishes to terminally ill children in whom all hope of recovery have gone. For a child and their family who have know only pain, suffering and countless weeks in hospital, there is an opportunity for a lasting memory, from meeting a favourite pop star to taking a trip to Disney.
