With the visit of the magnificent Tall Ship 'Sedov' only days away, the infamous Jemima and her Army are preparing to welcome the ship with open arms.
Unlike the day in February 1791, all pitchforks will be stowed away as Jemima and her ladies greet the ship on the quayside in traditional dress, accompanied by music from the Milford Haven Sea Cadet Band.
The Guinness Book of Records' 'largest sailing ship' will be arriving at Milford Haven at 4 pm (approx) next Friday, June 13.
The ship will be berthed alongside Phoenix Bowl in Milford Docks and will open to the public from 9.30 am on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, June 14, 15 and 16.
The general public will be able to board the decks of the ship at a cost of £2.50 per adult and £1.50 for children and OAPs. Proceeds will be donated to the ship.
A large programme of events has been planned for the crew and cadets, including an evening of musical entertainment at Hakin Social Club, a reception at Milford Haven Town Hall, free bowling, entry to the Meads Sports Centre, a guided coach tour of Pembrokeshire and even a trip to St. David's.
In addition to events for the crew, there will be a parade of historic maritime boats in Milford Marina at 2 pm on Saturday, June 15, and the Milford Haven Town Band will be playing on the quayside on Saturday afternoon. Local Sea Cadets, TS Harrier and TS Warrior will be in attendance throughout the visit.
The Tall Ships Trust (Wales) are looking forward to the arrival of the ship and hoping that the people of Pembrokeshire will come along to the ship for this once in a lifetime experience.
