On Sunday, Trinity 15, the service of the Holy Eucharist was held at Jeffreyston, Lawrenny and Reynalton, when the Gospel reading was taken from St. Luke, Ch. 15, vv 1-10. God cannot wait for people to find him. He goes out of his way in order to seek them. And when they respond, all heaven rejoices.
We know the feeling of concern when we lose something or someone that means a lot to us. The parables of the lost sheep and lost coin show that God feels similar concern for people who are spiritually lost. All through the Bible story, God mounts a 'search and rescue mission' and goes to extreme lengths to find and save lost people. He calls the church to join in that mission. And he even searches for us when we stray from him.
