The Rector, Fr. Paul, led the morning Eucharist service in Jeffreyston Church on Sunday. On this day we commemorated all Souls, when we remembered our loved ones who had passed away. During the service, a list of those locally who had died in the past five years was read out. On Saturday, November 1, we celebrated All Saints Day.

The readings were Solomon 3.vv 1-9, and Romans 5.vv 5-11. The Gospel reading was John 6.vv 37-40, where we read about Salvation.

Fr. Paul used as a text, verse 40 of the Gospel reading "This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in Him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day."

In an interesting review, Fr. Paul outlined the changing seasons, stressing that God is Love who never changes. He added that we are God's children.

At the end of the service, Fr. Paul was proud to show the congregation the coloured drawings made in the Sunday School. These were of flower pots, cleverly made to indicate the plant growing. Naomi from the Sunday School read out the closing prayer based on the Saints.

Fr. Paul led Evening Eucharist in Jeffreyston Church. The morning readings were repeated. In his sermon, Fr. Paul expanded on the teaching from John chapter 6. He stressed that we have a loving God who wants the best for His people.

We were reminded that on Friday, November 13, the Church Hall will be open at 6.30 pm for the Auction of Promises and various items donated for church funds. The auctioneer will be Mr. Maurice Cole.

On Saturday, November 15, East Williamston Church will have a cake stall in East Williamston Hall at the Christmas Market. On Thursday, November 20, Jeffreyston Church members will have a cake stall at the Autumn Craft Fayre for friends of St. Oswald's VA School.
