The Rector, Fr. Paul, led the Eucharist services on Sunday, the second after Epiphany. The readings were Isaiah 49 vv29-42, in which we read of Jesus with John the Baptist. In reviewing all readings, Fr. Paul said that we need to make room in our busy lives for God's unselfish love. He reminded us that our body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. At the end of the service, the Sunday School pupils assembled at the front of the church, then Emma June beautifully read out the closing prayer, reflecting on the theme of the day. During this the pupils proudly held up the paper doves which they had made, to signify the descent of the Holy Spirit on Jesus. Thanks were expressed for ongoing contributions being made to the Asian Disaster Appeal that were being sent on to Christian Aid. The church services for this Sunday are: 9 am Eucharist, East Williamston; 10.30 am Eucharist and Sunday School, Jeffreyston; 12 noon Eucharist, Reynalton; 6 pm Evensong, Jeffreyston.
