The annual meeting of Jeffreyston Community Council was held in the Church Hall, Jeffreyston, on Monday.

Prior to commencement of the meeting, the chairman welcomed returning members and new member Mrs. Gwyneth Jenkins.

Appointment of chairman and vice-chairman: It was unanimously agreed that Clrs. R. S. and D. J. Scourfield be appointed chairman and vice-chairman for the ensuing year, respectively.

Vacancies on council: There were two vacancies on the council following the recent elections which could now be filled by co-option. Notices inviting interested persons to submit their details in writing to The Clerk at Willow Glen, Templeton, Narberth, SA67 8RS, by June 1, would be displayed in the area.

Post boxes: Concern was expressed that two post boxes in the council's area could not be used as they were covered with mail bags and taped. These were located by Castle School in Cresselly and at Lanes End, Cresselly. Local residents were being inconvenienced by the boxes being taken out of service and criticism was made that this action had been taken without prior notice. Enquiries would be made with the Post Office.

Planning: No objections were raised to the following planning applications - Lilac Cottage, Jeffreyston (rear two-storey extension); land east of Loveston Mountain Cottage, Loveston (construction of an earth bend nutrient storage lagoon - for the storage of slurry).

Highways: Complaint was received that highway water was causing problems at Jeffreyston Inn by ponding on the car park. Pembrokeshire County Council were to be requested to investigate this matter.
