The October meeting of the council was held in the Church Hall, Jeffreyston, when the following matters were discussed:

Local Development Plan: A letter was received from Pembrokeshire County Council confirming that the land from The Crown to the Wynch, Jeffreyston, had been withdrawn from the Local Development Plan and would not therefore be considered by the authority as an alternative site.

Traffic speed - Jeffreyston: A communication was received from a resident of Jeffreyston requesting that consideration be given to introducing a method of reducing traffic speed at the Ford Lane/Hill Lane junction.

Visibility at the junction was restricted, the road was narrow and there was no continuous footpath. The need to avoid hindrance to agricultural traffic was appreciated, but a suitable option should be sought.

It was agreed that this matter be referred to County Clr. E. J. Codd for appropriate action.

Wind turbine: A letter was received seeking the council's comments prior to a planning application being made for the erection of a single wind turbine and ancillary engineering works at Marin Hill East, Martletwy.

Members were surprised to learn of the submission of a planning application when an application had been made during the summer for the erection of a temporary 40.5m high aneometer mast for a period of 18 months.

It was understood that the results from this would indicate whether the site would be suitable for a wind turbine.

It was agreed that further information be sought before submitting any comments.

Sunnyside - Jeffreyston: Concern was expressed regarding the deplorable condition of the site of Sunnyside Farm in the centre of Jeffreyston village and it was agreed to contact the agents for the landowner requesting that appropriate action be taken to maintain the site in a much more tidy condition.
