The following matters were discussed at a recent meeting of Jeffreyston Community Council: Recycling facility: Pembrokeshire County Council had enquired whether there was a suitable site to locate the recycling facility currently situated at Jeffreyston Inn. Members were unable to suggest an alternative location. Jeffreyston play area: Notification was received from Pembrokeshire County Council that following a recent inspection items of play equipment had been replaced. Planning application: No objection was raised in respect of a planning application to restore agricultural land at Loan Hill Farm, Jeffreyston, by in-filling with inert waste. Grass cutting, Cresselly: A contribution towards fuel costs, etc. used in connection with grass cutting at Cresselly was to be made to Mrs. D. Arthur whose family are responsible for maintaining the area in an immaculate condition throughout the summer season. Junction of Hill Lane and B4586: A complaint was received from a local resident of the dangers to motorists at the junction of Hill Lane with the B4586. Visibility for drivers emerging from Hill Lane was limited and there were frequent 'near misses' when drivers, who are invariably exceeding the speed limit, have to brake sharply to avoid an accident. It was agreed to request Pembrokeshire County Council to provide signage to warn drivers of the junction and possibly to provide a mirror so that drivers from Hill Lane can see along the road in the direction of Broadmoor. Highway matters: A complaint that the boundary wall of East Park was in danger of falling on to the highway was referred to Pembrokeshire County Council for appropriate action. Similar action was also to be taken in respect of the signpost at Yerbeston Gate which was pointing in the wrong direction. Retiring members: As this was the last meeting before the forthcoming elections, thanks were expressed to the three members who had not sought re-election, namely Clrs. M. F. Harts, D. J. Scourfield and A. G. Edwards, for their contribution to the council during the period they had served.
