The following matters were discussed at a recent meeting of the council: A letter was received from Dyfed-Powys Police inviting the council to submit the top three priorities for policing in this area for 2006/7. After consideration, it was resolved that the following items be submitted: (i) the periodical presence of a police officer on foot in rural communities; (ii) enhanced communication and feedback when reports of crime are made by members of the public; (iii) road safety in rural areas. Members congratulated the clerk on the satisfactory audit report from the auditors - no matters arose which required the council's attention. The following planning applications were received: Lanes End Farm, Cresselly - extension to dwelling (no objection). Land adjoining Sunnyside Farm, Jeffreyston - residential development - outline (defer for site inspection). Decisions were received from Pembrokeshire County Council in respect of the following applications: Yerbeston Farm, Yerbeston - conversion of barn to six dwellings (approved). Land adjacent to Cliff Cottage and Ocmara, Jeffreyston - erection of one dwelling and garage (refused). It was agreed to investigate the possibility of work being undertaken to maintain the coffin rest cross in the hedge opposite St. Oswald's School, Jeffreyston.
