In the Division One Lydstep Cup, played at the RAOB Club, a thrilling match ended with the home team narrowly defeating the Jeff A 5-4.

The Second Division J. Warlow Shield, played at the Swanlake, was a little more one-sided, with the Paddock running out 7-2 winners against the Sun, St. Florence.

Two boards were in play at the Crown, Penally, on Wednesday, May 14 for the Billy Roberts Champions Cup.

On board one, Jeff A defeated Swanlake B 5-3, while the Jeff B team produced a similar 5-3 result against the Swan A team.

Not surprisingly, the Jeff A showed their superiority in the final overcoming their B team by a convincing 5-0.

And just for good measure, during the night, D. Boyle (Jeff A) fired home a maximum 180.

Last Friday, May 16, also proved a busy night.

In the Division One masters play-off (best of three legs of 501) at the DSS Club, Graham Bond (Castle) defeated John Williams (Swanlake) 2-1.

On the same night, an Invitation Pairs competition also took place on four boards at the same venue, with 29 pairs competing in an excellent night of darts.

Competing for the £100 first prize were players from both the District and Town Leagues, who produced high quality darts throughout the evening. Board winners were:

Board 1 - Tony/Ter Thomas (RAOB Club); Board 2 - Phil John/Phil Watkins (RFC); Board 3 - M. Hale/P. Robinson (Crown P); Board 4 - D. Culleton/A. Culleton (RFC).

Thanks go to Brian Carswell, RFC, for all his work on the night and to Chris and Dave for running the raffle.

On the night, Paul John (RFC), Dave Culleton (RFC) and the Town League's Dave Williams (DSSC) all fired home maximum 180s, while quickest game was a speedy 17-darter from the RAOB pair Tony/Ter Thomas .
