Despite the rain, residents of Jameston braved the weather for their annual carol singing event, raising an amount of £125, which together with an earlier amount of £50 raised by the Jameston craft and chatter group, was donated to the local air ambulance branch.
Jameston Community Hall is currently under re-build and should be fully operational at the end of March, with full wifi access and facilities for a wide variety of events, group meetings and social gatherings.
However, there are a few groups who have continued to use the smaller hall, including the sewing - a group of local ladies who meet on Monday mornings to pursue their different crafting skills; craft and chatter - also a group of local ladies who meet to knit, embroider, sew and have a good old chat; a self-help computer club meets on Monday evenings to try to improve their computer skills by imparting any knowledge they have to other users; the art club which is a few people who also follow their own line of art and impart any help they can to others. New members are always welcome
The final accolade will be on April 14 when Manorbier and District Country Market will be opening in the new main hall.
Should anyone wish to join in with promoting the community hall to its full potential, more locals are urged to join up as committee members.
