Three years have past and the whereabouts of James Nutley, of Caldicott, who went missing during a visit to Tenby, still remain a mystery.
During the October half term, every year a group of golfing friends travelled to the town to play golf. The 2004 trip ended when one of the party went missing in mysterious circumstances; that person was James Nutley, who would now be 28.
Having left the pub at 11.40 pm, James headed for his hotel, The Giltar on the Esplanade.
He was last seen on CCTV at 11.57 pm on Sunday, October 24, 2004. He was seen on film crossing the road from the beach side towards the pavement at the Atlantic Hotel.
In the same piece of footage, there were six people walking along the pavement at the front of the Atlantic Hotel. At this time James was only about 10 -15 metres from these people.
"In 2004, were you one of the six people returning to your hotel at six minutes to midnight?" said Janet Lewis-Williams, appeals manager for Missing Wales, this week. "It was wet and blowing a gale; there's just the chance that you remember seeing a young man walking close to you.
"James is 6ft 2ins, with brown hair, and was last seen wearing a white top with blue sleeves and blue jeans."
An intensive search of the coastline during the following days failed to find any trace of James, while Dyfed Powys Police said that two separate criminal enquiries had also been linked to James's disappearance following allegations that he may have been subjected to physical violence on Tenby beach.
"These enquiries have now been completed and there is no evidence to indicate that James's disappearance is linked to any crime," said a spokesperson. "However, his disappearance is still a mystery and we believe someone has information about what happened to James and we appeal for them to come forward."
"We are also appealing for information about James's Samsung mobile 'phone and an 'Animal' watch which were in his possession at the time he went missing, but have never been recovered."
The family have also offered a £10,000 reward for information which can assist in finding James.
