Ex-Pembrokeshire College Football Academy captain Jack Christopher was in the Wales Under 23 semi-pro squad that played against Finland at Stebonheath, Llanelli, on Tuesday.
Jack is now a regular player for Haverfordwest County and has been in great form for the club, scoring a hat-trick in a recent game against Airbus UK.
Jack was a full-time student at Pembrokeshire College from 2003-2006. After attending Greenhill School, he took a First Diploma in Sport at college and then progressed to the National Certificate in Sport and Exercise.
As an academy player, he received professional coaching, experienced competitive matches and took part in a comprehensive sports programme to achieve elite performance.
"Jack was a great Football Academy player at college," commented sports science tutor Andrew Thomas, "and went on to captain the squad where he was very effective.
"Like many academy players, Jack played regularly for the Bluebirds in the Welsh Premier League while at college.
"We all wish him the best of luck for his future career in football."
Jack Christopher has been prolific scorer since making his top flight debut for the Bluebirds (Haverfordwest County) in 2004-05 and has rapidly gained a reputation as one of the most deadly finishers in the league. A natural goal-scorer, he broke the club's single season scoring record in the WPL last season.
Unfortunately, he could not prevent Wales from slipping to a 1-0 defeat in the match against Finland.
