A Whitland establishment has made it into the final ten of a national awards celebrating the UK’s best B and Bs, guesthouses ands independent small hotels.

The Jabajak Vineyard Restaurant with Rooms has been shortlisted for the ‘Quirkiest Place to Stay’ award by a panel of experts which recognises the unique and individual character of the property, and the experiences available to guests.

The Jabajak has seen tremendous growth over the last 10 years and was recently recognised as one of the best 6 restaurants with rooms in the UK by the Food and Travel magazine.

Owner, Amanda Stuart-Robson said: “I’m over the moon to hear that my guest house has been selected as one of the finalists, and we’re really hoping we win!

“For us, it’s all about the customer and making sure they have the best possible experience, but it’s wonderful to know that we’ve been recognised for all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes each day.”

Michele Fitzpatrick, CEO of eviivo, said: “The eviivo awards are all about celebrating the unsung heroes of the hospitality sector. We work with so many properties that have fascinating stories to tell, and I’m delighted that we have a platform where we are able to recognise this, and in turn raising the standards across the industry.

“It was extremely difficult this year in narrowing down the entries as we had so many high quality nominees. This is the first year that we’ve opened the awards up to open entries during the nominations stage; it’s been a pleasure to see so many talented owners put themselves forward.”

The winners will be revealed at a black-tie dinner awards ceremony on October 18 at the UnderGlobe, found beneath Shakespeare’s Globe theatre in central London. A fitting venue as this year’s ceremony focuses on the celebration of the written word.
