Preparations are well underway for a fashion extravaganza that is set to raise a large sum for cancer charities.

Tenby Ladies Circle are staging 'It's The Biz', a grand charity fashion show in the De Valence Arts Centre on Saturday, October 1, with something on offer to suit all tastes and ages.

The event is one of the major fund-raising events for Tenby Ladies Circle and as chairman Julie Morris explained, a great deal of interest has already been aroused.

"We are delighted with the support we have had to date. We have fashions on display from four local shops, as well as a boutique recently opened in Cardiff, so there really will be something for everyone."

Displaying their latest styles will be T. P. Hughes, Jago, Equinox, Underground Surf and Skate Shop and Cardiff boutique, Poppers.

The shops will also have stalls in the De Valence on the evening showing just some of the range of accessories that they carry alongside their fashions. Other local shops will also have stalls on the night - a chance to do a little bit of early Christmas shopping.

The show is being co-ordinated by Circler, Catrin Griffiths, who has a wealth of experience. Compere for the evening will be Ruth Webb, who no doubt will keep a smile on everyone's face throughout. Providing musical interludes will be popular local DJ Wayne Wharton.

As well as ladies' fashions, there will be clothes for the men in you life, paraded by friends and members of Tenby Round Table.

"We are grateful to the many businesses that have generously sponsored this event, so that nearly all the proceeds can go direct to our chosen charities which are Ward 10 at Withybush Hospital and Macmillan Nurses," said Julie.

"The canapes for all guests have been generously donated by Alfresco Catering, while the Bucks Fizz to greet everyone on arrival has been kindly sponsored by Celtic Wines," she added.

At the end of the show, Circlers will be drawing their grand charity raffle, which has been running throughout the summer. All proceeds from this are being donated to Breast Cancer Research at University Hospital, Cardiff, and it is hoped that a hospital representative will be there on the evening to receive a cheque.

"The first prize for the raffle is £150 cash, sponsored by CEM Day Ltd., who have also kindly met the rental cost for the De Valence and we are grateful to Mr. Mike Grant, of CEM Day, for backing our event," Julie added.

Tickets for the event are priced £10 to include Bucks Fizz on arrival and canapés on tables. Tickets are available from Jazz Radio, Waterloo House, T. P. Hughes and Equinox, and anyone with further queries can contact Julie on 844524.

"There are limited seats available for the evening which I am sure will be great fun and an event to remember, so please get your tickets early and join us for an evening of fun, friendship, fund-raising and fashion," said Julie.
