IS it a bird? No, it's Peter Pan and Tinkerbell flying over Saundersfoot towards the Regency Hall to appear in this year's pantomime. With less than a month to go, rehearsals are in full swing and, for the first time in many years, there are to be two performances on the Saturday, a matinee and an evening performance. Peter is being played by Janina Evans, who has been promoted from the chorus for this show, and Tinkerbell by long-standing (though still young) member, Amy Deverson. Of course, every production of 'Peter Pan' needs its Captain Hook and this one has Gareth Morris very much in Pirate King mode - although he could perhaps be mistaken for Charles II! No pantomime would ever be complete without a dame and to say that this year's dame is even more larger-than-life than usual would be an understatement - but you'll have to go and see it to find out why. Newcomer Jessica Hancock is playing the dame's daughter, Tiger Lily - just one of the new faces. With a chorus ranging in age from seven to..., a large cast, colourful costumes and scenery and tuneful singing, 'Peter Pan' should certainly keep up the Saundersfoot Footlights' excellent pantomime tradition. Performances will be staged at the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot, from Monday to Saturday, December 3 to 8, evenings at 7.30 pm (with a Saturday matinee at 2.30 pm). Tickets for the Monday and Tuesday shows are all priced at £5, while from Wednesday to Saturday, the prices are, adults £6 and concessions £5. They are available from Evans Newsagents, Saundersfoot, Janina Louise, Tenby and Reohorn Amusements, Pembroke Dock.
