TWO police officers with strong local connections who are serving with the County Constabulary in Zurich found out it's a small world recently following a chance meeting. Former Tenby man, Billy Jones, who now lives in Switzerland, called into our offices last week to tell us about the meeting between his son, Ken, 28, and Alexander Leu at the head office of the police force. "Ken was doing paperwork when Alex came into the same room. Alex noticed Ken's name badge and asked if with a surname Jones he came from Wales," said Billy. "Ken told him his father was Welsh and came from Tenby and was astounded when Alex, a police superintendant, said his mother was from Tenby too. "She was Raydene Kingdom, the daughter of the late Jimmy Kingdom, of Serpentine Road." Ken, meanwhile, is the grandson of Margaret and the late Ken Jones, of The Glebe. "The two got chatting and discovered that Alex used to work on the Caldey boats with Bing Jones, Ken's great uncle," explained Billy. "They have also now discovered their grandfathers were great friends."
