Thanks to the kindness and co-operation of Ben Childs, estate manager of Caldey Island, Tenby and District Lions Club presented a new seat to Caldey Island last Friday.
The wooden bench has been carved from western red cedar by Ian Murray using a chainsaw.
The photograph shows a squirrel on one end and a puffin on the other end because the red squirrel has recently been introduced to the island and the puffins have started to come back to Caldey. There is also a hidden carving of an owl for visitors to find.
The skipper and crew of the Caldey Abbey mail boat and others helped to transport the seat on a calm, sunny morning.
Once in position on the island, the Abbott of Caldey came and blessed the new seat for the use of the public.
