Issues in an area of Tenby where ‘irresponsible’ parking is leading to residents being blocked in need addressing, a local councillor told her colleagues this week.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of Tenby Town Council, Clr. Mrs. Tracey Evans said that a serious lack of spaces at Newell Hill was causing concerns for residents.
“Some time there is no way out of the street due to people parking irresponsibly, and there are extra concerns as three of the town’s firefighters live there, plus two of the lifeboat crew, so it is a major concern when they need to get out,” she said, suggesting that some extra parking space might be looked into by Pembrokeshire County Council.
“I grew up there and often visit my parents, and sometimes there isn’t even enough room to turn a vehicle around, and you have to reverse back down the whole street, so it’s a valid point,” said Clr. Will Crockford.
The Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, agreed that it might be something that PCC can look into if the council contacts the authority pointing out the concerns raised, with Clr. Trevor Hallett also suggesting that it might be a matter that the police can tackle.
