Tenby grandmother Stella Lewis, of Heywood Court, was a very proud lady on Sunday when she watched her grandson Samuel Best compete in Ironman Wales.

After watching the whole of the swim, 87-year-old Stella made her way to The Green to see Sam pass on his first loop of the cycle rude.

When she had a call from the rest of her family later in the evening to say that Sam was on his last lap of the run, she then set out again to see him cross the line at 9 pm.

"It was a weekend she won't forget in a hurry as her grandchildren and great-grandchildren all made their way from Kent," said her daughter Monica.
