Dubbed the 'lady in pink', Tenby hairdresser, Janina Evans, became almost a celebrity as she wowed the crowds with her pink hair and matching sporting kit.

"Everywhere I went people were shouting come on pink lady and you can do it Pinkie," said Janina, who crossed the finishing line in 16: 01:15.

And on her last lap of the marathon, she even had an archway of fans to run through outside the Hope and Anchor in St. Julian Street.

"The whole event was amazing," said Janina. "It feels so surreal that I have actually done it. The support was absolutely phenomenal. All around the course there were banners with my name on and people were cheering me on."

After being persuaded to compete by her friend and fellow Tenby Aces Cycling Club member Nicola Coates, Janina's husband Carl helped her every step of the way with her training programme.

And he was there at the finishing line to give her a huge congratulatory hug.

"I have also been inspired by Olly Simon and he was there to meet me too and give me a hug which really made my day!" said Janina.
