Sir,
Through the columns of your paper I would like to express my sincere thanks to the many businesses that kindly supported me in my challenge to become an Ironman last weekend.
Their generosity has been overwhelming, totalling almost £1500, to be donated to Ward 10 at Withybush Hospital.
I would like to reiterate what many of the other local 'finishers' said in last week's paper about the event. The support I received was overwhelming. Throughout the whole day I could hear my name being shouted, I could see signs with my name, people were running alongside encouraging me on. In fact, the support carried me through the whole 13 and a half hours.
Ironman Wales was an amazing experience, and I would say 'go for it' to anyone thinking about taking part next year. We are so lucky to have an international world class event in Pembrokeshire, coupled with the amazing amount of support you will receive.
It takes a huge amount of training and effort, but the rewards far outweigh the hard work, and the memories will stay with me forever.
Thank you Pembrokeshire
Richard Graham,
