As the result of one of their friends being airlifted to hospital after a serious road accident, two Pembrokeshire women, Paula Musselwhite from Roch and Alison Fletcher, of Fletcher Architectural Designs, of Nolton, decided to take on a triple fund-raising challenge to show their gratitude and repay the Wales Air Ambulance charity for saving his life.
The intention was to take on each challenge on the same day, but weather conditions were against them. Neverthless, that did not deter them and they decided to complete the daredevil fund-raiser.
The first part of the challenge was to visit Oakwood and with the help of all the staff there and manager, Phil Verbinnen, they took on the Vertigo ride.
Next it was on to the Cleddau Bridge, where they bungee jumped to promote the charity, and finally they travelled on to Swansea airfield where they sky-dived to success and completed the triple fund-raiser.
The two intrepid women, who managed to raise a total of £478.50 for Wales Air Ambulance, handed over the cash to the charity’s local fundraising co-ordinator, Tony Key, in the shadows of Roch Castle.
Tony said the money would be put to good use in saving the life of someone else who found themselves in difficulty.
