Tenby District Lions Club recently received international recognition of the hard work they do both locally and internationally.

Tenby District Lions president Dave Griffiths attended the Lions International Convention in Belfast, where he accepted an award on behalf of the Tenby Lions Club members.

The award presented by Lions International president Sid Schruggs is awarded for outstanding services to Lions.

The award citation reads: 'It is my honour to present to you the International Presidents Award for outstanding service to Lions Club International.

'This International Presidents Award is an expression of appreciation for your dedicated humanitarian efforts.

'As a Lion you have served as a 'Beacon of Hope' for those in need. Your hard work and compassion towards others are positive examples to your fellow Lions, your community and those you meet each day.

'With this award, I want to express my personal gratitude for your efforts and achievements. Your past accomplishments assure me that you will continue to enrich the lives of others through service. It is encouraging to know that Lions like you are working together to improve the lives of others.'

Tenby District Lions Club meets every first Monday at the Giltar Hotel, Tenby, at 7.30 pm.

Anyone is welcome to go along, where they will be made very welcome.
