Estyn, the education and training inspectorate for Wales, will be meeting parents and teachers from Pembrokeshire this month to strengthen its links with local schools. Susan Lewis, Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales, leads a panel of HM Inspectors from Estyn at a meeting being held at Pembrokeshire County Council headquarters in Haverfordwest on Monday, March 12. At the meeting, HM Chief Inspector will outline the findings from her recent annual report and share information about education and training in Pembrokeshire. The Estyn panel, together with representatives of Pembrokeshire County Council, will then respond to questions on education and training issues. Estyn is inviting parents and teachers from Pembrokeshire to apply for free tickets to attend. The meeting will start at 6.30 pm, with refreshments available from 6 pm. Susan Lewis said: "The meeting is an opportunity to find out how inspection can make a difference to learners. I am looking forward to meeting parents and teachers in Pembrokeshire. Estyn has an important role in ensuring that education and training benefits all learners, and our inspection work plays a key part in raising standards and quality in education and training across Wales."
