Mr. Michael Howells, the coroner for Pembrokeshire, yesterday (Thursday) concluded an inquest into the death of a 45-year-old Tenby woman. The court heard from the coroner's officer, Mr Delme Davies, that Gail Jennifer Dunne was found dead at her flat at 1 Clement Terrace on Monday, July 16. He stated that the deceased had been born in Tredegar in Monmouthshire, but had been brought up in Tenby. She had been married with three children and became separated from her husband two years ago. A year previous to this, her mother had passed away and, subsequently, she had taken to drinking excessively. In September of last year, her health had began to deteriorate rapidly, so much so that family members routinely checked on her welfare each day. He daughter had suggested that she go to live with her sister, Mrs Anne-Marie Walker, but she had declined and it was Mrs. Walker who discovered the body on one of her daily visits. A post mortem examination carried out by the consultant pathologist, Dr. Savi Bolumas, revealed the presence of amphetamine substances and alcohol in the body. The coroner returned a verdict of death due to alcohol poisoning.
