The handover lunch was held on Monday, June 29, at Teisings Restaurant, Trefloyne.

President Joyce Walker welcomed everyone to the final event of her year, before investing Pat Mathews with the chain of office.

Guests present were president of Tenby and District Soroptimists, Jenny Deverson, and president of Tenby Ladies Circle, Karen Tulley.

Cards and messages for both Joyce and Pat were read by secretary Jean, and district chairman Toni brought greetings from District 15.

The Tenby club's oldest member, Lillian (aged 102), although unable to attend the lunch, had been delighted to receive a visit from Toni, with a gift of flowers, following the district handover.

A gift of a silver bracelet was presented to Joyce by the club, in appreciation of all her hard work, and a planter with a rose was given by Meryl on behalf of the executive committee.

Pat said that she was honoured to be president, and with everyone's help and support, she looked forward to another year filled with fun and friendship.

It had been a special surprise for her when her daughters, Angela and Jackie, arrived for lunch.

The afternoon ended with tea and coffee on the terrace - a perfect place to be on a lovely summer's day.

Thanks must go to Arno and Helen for the superb food and excellent service.

The next meeting is the walk around Penally on July 13. A meal is booked at The Overlander, so please contact Jan.

Welsh cakes will be baked at the Rotary Summer Fair at Tenby harbour on Sunday, July 19. Offers of help to Pat please.
