On a pleasant summer's evening, president Helen John welcomed the members to the June meeting of the Inner Wheel Club of Narberth at the Plas Hyfryd Hotel. Best wishes and congratulations were extended to past presidents, Pearl Holding, Betty Harrison, Lynn Werrett and June John on their birthdays this month. Club business was conducted and finalised, with arrangements to cover the Blood Sessions in the Queen's Hall, Narberth, and to provide homemade jams, chutneys and cakes for the Rotary Club's Pig Roast and BBQ with Duck Race and Games, at Cresswell Quay, on Friday, June 15, at 6 pm - everyone welcome to join in the fun. Secretary Jan Haddleton dealt with the mail and gave the members information received on the plans to hold the 14th Inner Wheel International Convention in 2009 in Kota Kinabalu, near Brunei, Malaysia. President Helen and two members attended the Haverfordwest 60th Charter Dinner and several enjoyed a coffee morning in Carmarthen. The president and members were invited to the opening of the new Art Gallery in Narberth and were very impressed with the diversity of the exhibition. Members will visit the Narberth Fire Station next week when president Helen will present a cheque to the First Response fire officers. Several members will attend the District 15 annual general meeting in Fishguard, where Mrs. Anne Williams, of Fishguard Club, will be inducted as Inner Wheel District 15 chairman for 2007/2008, with the warmest good wishes of president Helen John and the members of Narberth and Whitland Club.
