She also circulated a letter of thanks from one of the orphanages that had received the gifts.
The candlelight supper at New Hedges Village Hall had been a great success. Carwen thanked all who had helped. Special thanks went to the young group of musicians from the Greenhill School and to Newman and Trevena Vincent, John Bevan and Liz Storey, who provided the entertainment.
Anne Kelly, the district magazine editor, was congratulated by Carwen on the new format of the Spokeswoman magazine.
During the business meeting, Carwen gave details of other functions and events she had attended over the Christmas period as president of the Inner Wheel. These included the district meeting in November and the Narberth and Whitland Inner Wheel celebration dinner.
Doreen Pearson was 92 on Christmas Day. Flowers had been sent to her with love and best wishes from the club.
The guest speaker for the afternoon was Pat Vaughan from the Narberth and Whitland Inner Wheel Club. She gave an account of her visit to the Overseas Convention in Christchurch, New Zealand. Pat was thanked by Rosemary for her interesting and informative talk.
On January 11, a group of club members attended the Saundersfoot Inner Wheel Club's evening of Friends and Flowers.
