A 23-year-old male climber sustained mutiple injuries after falling 15-metres on a climb between the Castle and Saddle Head, near St. Govan's Head, on Sunday.
He was airlifted to Morriston Hospital, Swansea, where he is reported to be in a stable condition.
The injured climber had been lead climbing on a route known as 'Master Blaster' on an area known as 'Misty Walls'.
When he fell, the protection he had placed in the cliff pulled out and he impacted on a ledge before rolling onto his companion at the base, causing them both to end up on a ledge six feet above the sea.
Other climbers in the area raised the alarm, while a female climber abseiled down to render first aid.
MRSC Milford Haven coastguard tasked the St. Govan's and Castlemartin coastguard rescue teams (CRTs) immediately to the scene, while support from the RAF rescue helicopter at Chivenor and the Tenby CRT, coastguard sector manager and ambulance assistance was organised.
Two coastguard cliffmen were lowered down the cliff to render first aid and stabilise the casualty prior to evacuation by the rescue helicopter.
On completion of the incident, the coastguard teams recovered the climbers who had been assisting their injured companion. There were no injuries to other climbers, including the one struck by his colleague.
