LAST week, the Rotary Club of Saundersfoot enjoyed an informative talk given by Captain Mark Andrews, who is harbour master of Milford Haven, deputy chief executive of Milford Haven Port Authority and a member of the authority's board.

His talk encompassed his sea-going and land-based experiences in maritime work; and included descriptions of the varied responsibilities of the harbour master and the board.

In detail, Captain Andrews spoke of the work of refineries and LNG terminals within the authority's remit, and particularised upon the enormous size of LNG carrying vessels, and their dynamic importance within the total UK energy strategy.
