Friends of Narberth Museum enjoyed a guided walk with historian Terry John to the ancient remains of Newton Church and Castell Coch, courtesy of Bluestone Ltd. Terry shared his wealth of knowledge about the history of the area. A lunch in the Knights Tafarn completed an enjoyable and informative morning. To commemorate D-Day, the next Friends event will be a talk by Flt. Lt. Mark Davies, of Cardigan ATC, about his work taking young people from Wales out to Normandy to educate them and ensure that the memory of the conflict is passed on to future generations. He is also a battlefield guide. This will be held in the Museum on Wednesday, June 18, at 7 pm. All welcome. The Friends' programme of events for the next six months is now available. Membership renewal is due in July and new members are always welcome. The July meeting will be the AGM and the curator, Pauline Griffiths, will give a talk entitled 'The Museum - Present and Future'.
