Tenby's inshore lifeboat and the St. Govan's coastguard searched the sea and under cliffs in the Broadhaven, Stackpole area, following a report of an inflatable dinghy in difficulties on Friday afternoon.
However, the dinghy turned out to be a small fishing vessel not in any difficulty.
Whilst attending the incident, both units were re- tasked to another inflatable dinghy with one person on board in difficulties off Freshwater West Beach. The dinghy was taken in tow to the edge of the surf by a local vessel, the Watwick Shell. The man, a holidaymaker from Fulham, then managed to get to shore safely under the watchful eye of the inshore lifeboat.
Again, whilst on the beach talking to the dinghy man from the incident, the St. Govan coastguards were approached by two girls to say another girl had been hit by her surfboard and had head injuries.
The coastguard gave the girl medical attention while awaiting the air ambulance. The ambulance landed and conveyed the girl, aged 10, and the daughter of the man involved in the dinghy incident to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest.
