Whitland A team played their first match in the Nick Evans The Cricket Shop, Pembrokeshire Indoor Cricket League and came away with a 35 runs win against Pembroke Dock at the Meads Leisure Centre, Milford Haven.
Whitland scored 103 for 4 from their 10 overs. Skipper Dave Lee led from the front with 28 before being run out, backed up by teenager Iestyn Scourfield with 25 not out, Daniel James with 16 and Paul Davies with 11.
Pembroke Dock were bowled out for 69 in the last over with just two balls of the match remaining.
Opener Julian Edwards held the Dock innings together with a fighting knock of 22, before being stumped by Steve Fraser off the bowling of teenager Carl Smith, and John Camani hung in with 16, before he was also stumped by Steve Fraser, this time off the bowling of Dave Lee.
Skipper Lee ended with figures of 2 for 9.
Wicket-keeper Steve Fraser showed the value of a good glove man by stumping four of the Dock batsmen.
Two of the stumpings were off the bowling of Dave Lee and the others off the bowling of youngsters Carl Smith and Iestyn Scourfield.
Somewhat surprisingly, Burton were unable to field a team, which meant that both Whitland and Pembroke Dock were denied another competitive game and umpire Alan Hansen was left twiddling his thumbs.
With both St Florence and Burton having been unable to get six players together in the Indoor League this season, there may be a case for implementing a rule change next season, to find a way of permitting a team to have up to a certain number of guest players or for allowing clubs to combine.
The consolation for Pembroke Dock is that they are the current Indoor League leaders, after winning one match and being awarded the points in two other fixtures.
