Pembroke Dock have completed their programme of six matches in the Martin James Health Club Pembroke County Cricket Indoor League. New first team skipper Nicky Daley was pleased with the way his team had played. Speaking to Observer Sport he said: "We've won four out of our six matches in the indoor league and it has been excellent preparation for the new Pembrokeshire cricket season. Having been promoted from division four last season we will be making a determined effort this season not only to consolidate our position in division three, but also to challenge the leading teams for promotion." In the latest round of matches, the Dock had a comfortable win over Saundersfoot with two overs left. The Seasiders were held to a total of 69 for five, with Simon Stanford top scoring on 28, backed up by David Dunfee with 14 and Yannick Parker with 10. Peter Kingdom took one for 11 in his two overs and caused most of the problems for the Saundersfoot batsmen. The Dock reached a total of 70 for four in reply. Peter Kingdom followed up his bowling to score 36 not out, supported by Steve Hartley with 18. David Dunfee took one for six for Saundersfoot and Simon Stanford one for 12, with the other two wickets falling to run outs. The match against Burton was a slightly higher scoring affair, with Burton reaching a total of 103 for five, thanks mainly to Gareth Bevan who scored 30. John Camani and Peter Kingdom each picked up one wicket and the other batsmen were run out. In a tense finish, the Dock won upon reaching 105 for four with three balls remaining. Peter Kingdom had another good match with 35 not out and Jamie White scored 36 not out. Saundersfoot's young side were bowled out for 73 in the match against Burton. Yannick Parker scored 30 and David Dunfee 16. For Burton, John Venables took three for 11 and Luke Hayman two for 17. Burton won by four wickets, with a total of 74 for two. Simon Bevan scored 30 before retiring, John Venables supported with 26 and Michael Venables was 14 not out. David Dunfee and Yannick Parker were the pick of the Saundersfoot bowlers and picked up a wicket each.
