Sir,
May I respond to the letter of (no title given) R. Duffield entitled 'Wind turbine bribery' printed in the Tenby Observer on January 4, 2013.
In this ill-informed correspondence, R. Duffield suggests that Penally Community Council are to be offered 'bribes' in an attempt to persuade the council to support the installation of a wind turbine at East Williamston.
It seems watching the Christmas films mixed with a little Christmas spirit have run wild with R. Duffield's imagination.
The fact of the matter is that the presentation referred to has been presented to many community councils in the locality and reported in the minutes of those councils which have also been printed in the Tenby Observer. Why this individual has chosen to refer only to Penally Community Council as recipients to offers of 'bribery' is something of a mystery.
However, nothing short of an apology would be acceptable for making such an offensive remark.
County Councillor,
Penally ward.
