Tenby inshore lifeboat was launched last Thursday evening after four people were reported cut off by the tide at First Point.
The town's coastguard rescue team were also called to investigate, but on arrival at the scene, the lifeboat crew found the four people were in fact anglers.
They were not in any trouble and were able to return to the beach by scrambling over rocks.
