A husband and wife were tragically killed and their young daughter seriously injured in an horrific road accident on Saturday.
Mr. Bennett, who worked at Texaco's Pembroke Refinery, was pronounced dead at the scene, while his wife, a meals supervisor at Orielton School, who was driving at the time of the accident, was taken by ambulance to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, where sadly she later died as a result of her injuries.
Their 12-year-old daughter, Sara, a rear seat passenger in the vehicle, was airlifted to Morriston Hospital, Swansea, where her condition is described as 'serious but stable'. Her grandparents are with her at her bedside.
The family were on their way home from a holiday in Blackpool with friends from Pembroke when they were in collision with the Volvo, which was travelling towards Kilgetty in the opposite direction to them.
The two occupants of the Volvo, a 42-year-old female driver and a 38-year-old male front seat passenger, sustained leg and chest injuries. They were taken to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, where their condition is described as 'comfortable'.
The road was closed for five-and-a-half hours while the emergency services dealt with the accident, which was also attended by firefighters from Tenby and the brigade's crash tender from Haverfordwest.
A number of witnesses have come forward and are helping the investigating officers with the inquiry.
However, the police are appealing for any witnesses who may not have already contacted them to do so by telephoning Haverfordwest police station on (01437) 763355.
