Sir,

With reference to Mr. Meyrick Brown's 'Straws in the Wind' column under the heading; 'Anti's Out' (Tenby Observer, December 23):

What does the Countryside Alliance mean when it says the 2004 Hunting Act is 'unworkable and misdirected'? Does it mean that the hunts are breaking that law, killing wild animals with dogs for fun, which is illegal, and not being caught, or carrying out the law and not killing wildlife with dogs for fun?

Surely, whilst living in a modern, civilized country, if the hunting world is carrying on killing wildlife illegally, then the wildlife law should be tightened up by society. If they are not, which they say they are not, and they are fully supported, fine, the 2004 Hunting Act is working well.

So why are they so desperate to repeal the 2004 Hunting Act?
