The September meeting of the Inner Wheel Club of Saundersfoot was held at St. Bride's Hotel. Members were delighted to welcome the immediate past District Governor of Rotary District 1150, Mr. Howard Griffiths, as the guest speaker for the evening. Howard's wife Ros is the president of Saundersfoot Inner Wheel and the members of the club were very interested to hear about their many experiences during their year of office. They both had to attend several training sessions, the most important being the Rotary International Assembly at Anaheim. In his year of office, Howard attended 220 Rotary events, including district meetings and visits to each of the 73 Rotary clubs in district 1150. He was involved in the organisation and presided over the successful District Conference at Torquay. He also attended the Rotary International Institute at Lugano, Switzerland. As the wife of the District Governor, Ros was Howard's partner on most of these occasions. Their busy timetable sometimes involved attendance at two or three events in one day and they travelled a total of 26,801 miles. They certainly gave dedication and commitment to a job well done. The interesting talk was followed by a short business meeting when arrangements were made for the meeting at Saundersfoot Bowling Club on October 14. The guest speaker will be Mr. John Hatcher whose subject will be Royal Doulton china.
