Sir, I am writing to show my utter disappointment at the state of the South Parade, an area of the town which is the first any guests will see when coming to our beautiful town. Weeds spreading up the walls and along the pavements, rubbish including cigarette butts, all along the bottom of the walls. It was a beautiful day weather-wise when I walked along the Parade and not one person sitting in any of the seats (which amazed me on such a lovely day).
Why can we not have hanging baskets on the walls and flower tubs just to add some colour and to brighten up the area? Tenby in the past has won numerous awards for floral displays and has always looked fabulous. It is now looking bare and completely uninviting.
As a business owner in the town, I am worried that people will see this and feel the same as I do. Is this how things are going to be in the future.
Come on Pembrokeshire County Council! Give Tenby back its appearance and the warming welcome that it has always had in the past. After all, we are paying enough business rates to justify this.
Malcolm Brace,
Giltar Hotel,
Tenby,
