Town councillors met this week with Pembrokeshire Housing Association chief executive Peter Maggs, who gave a presentation on schemes the association has planned for areas in and around Tenby. Members congratulated Mr. Maggs on the recent development on the former shop site at Knowling Mead, which Pembrokeshire Housing had purchased from the county council. Mr. Maggs told councillors that the association's relationship with county council was a positive one and that should any land become available that they wished to acquire, they would often hold discussions to try to initiate a project. Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas asked Mr. Maggs whether the old Cottage Hospital building would interest the association, as she felt it was suitable for a social housing scheme. Mr. Maggs said that it was owned by the county council and any project would depend on whether they had future plans of their own for the site. He added that, although the association struggled to find land within Tenby, they hoped to start another small development of flats in the town in the near future.
