A blaze which broke out at a disused hotel in Pembroke Dock on Tuesday is being treated as suspicious. At 5.41 am on Tuesday morning, the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call to a fire in the disused Commodore Hotel in the Old Dock Yard. On arrival, crews from Pembroke Dock were confronted with a developing fire involving the top floor and roof space. Due to reports that persons may have been inside, firefighters were committed with breathing apparatus for fire fighting and search and rescue purposes. Supporting appliances from Pembroke Dock and Milford Haven were requested, along with turntable ladders from Morriston and Haverfordwest. Once it was determined that the building was empty, the crews were withdrawn due to the instability of the roof. The roof of the building collapsed and once the blaze was put out, firefighters dampened down the hotspots and montitored the situation in case of re- ignition. "Dyfed Powys Police are treating the cause of the fire as suspicious," said station manager, Dai Hancock. A full fire investigation will be conducted jointly between Dyfed Powys Police and the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service. Anyone with any information relating to this incident is asked to contact police in Pembroke Dock on 0845 3302000.
