The seventh annual running of the Hot Rod Races took place on Pendine sands over the weekend with two days of non-stop racing action on the historic beach

The event hosted by the Vintage Hot Rod Association saw racing take place each day for around five to six hours, determined by the tide times.

The award winning event has fast become the most important date on the hot rod calendar, with participants coming from all over the globe to take part in the world’s fastest and most exciting beach racing competition available to traditional hot rods and customs, with speeds exceeding 120 mph.

Racing was only open to members of the Vintage Hot Rod Association and their pre-1949 hot rods and customs, with classes for all types of vehicles and engines, so there was guaranteed old time action all the way!

With cars being built just to break class records - congratulations goes to Marcus Bennett who was crowned new ‘King of the Beach’ - with his car finished at midnight the day before the event, and driven for nearly four hours to get there, before running at a stonking 121.70 mph!
