MILFORD Haven Amateur Operatic Society has now cast the principal roles for their production of 'Viva Mexico!' next March and with the addition of a lot of new young talent, the rehearsals are going well.

'Viva Mexico!' was first presented by the society in 1974  at the Petroleum Club at Herbrandston. The main dance hall was packed every night of the week, when the tiny stage bravely withstood the dancing and foot stamping choruses performed with colourful gusto by the enthusiastic chorus.

Twenty-four years on the society are reviving this successful musical comedy to show how it has truly stood the test of time. The luxurious space of the Torch Theatre stage will afford an opportunity to show how 'Viva Mexico!' really should be performed.

In the comfortable auditorium where every seat has a wonderful view you will enjoy a feast of vibrant rhythm, big popular chorus and dance numbers including 'The Mexican Hat Dance', 'La Cucuracha', 'El Rancho Grande', 'The Clapping Song', and lots more familiar themes, interwoven among the antics of a comic band of villains and policemen, a circus, an impressive Aztec ceremony and, as always, romance!

This exceptional show is not to be missed and early booking is recommended.

The society looks forward to seeing you between Monday and Saturday, March 10 - 15, at the Torch Theatre.
