Sir, I am writing to thank the people who gave generously to Joey Jones, who celebrated his 50th birthday at Kilgetty RAOB Club. Instead of receiving presents, Joey asked people to make donations to Birmingham Children's Hospital. The money will be donated to BCH Leukaemia Research as Joey's cousin, Angela Price's son, is nearly three and is currently being treated for leukaemia at the hospital. It is a cause close to Joey's heart as he was diagnosed with testicular cancer and stomach cancer in 2001 which required an operation and intensive chemotherapy. They raised a massive £1,500 through Joey's kindness as his 50th birthday party turned into a charity night because people were so generous. The family of Joey wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all who donated to his birthday request.
Karen Holden, Birmingham Children's Hospital.
