Tribute was paid recently to the dedicated fund-raisers who over the years have contributed so much in terms of funds and their time to enhance health care at Withybush Hospital. At a reception hosted by Lynette George, trust chairman, and Frank O'Sullivan, chief executive, the hospital's League of Friends was thanked for their past and continuing support. In the presence of league members and staff representing the many clinical areas to have benefited, their chairman, Rev. Tom Owen, thanked the trust for acknowledging their work and pledged continuing support to assist the excellent work by staff in providing patient care at Withybush. Mr. and Mrs. David George, of Milton, were welcomed to the reception, Mrs. George officially presenting two cots for the hospital's Maternity Unit. These had been purchased following the couple's diamond wedding anniversary when they had requested donations in lieu of presents. Rev. Geoffrey Eynon, hospital chaplain, formally blessed the cots along with 12 others purchased by the League of Friends. On behalf of the trust, Mrs. Lynette George thanked Mr. and Mrs. George for their kind gesture and the Rev. Eynon for his blessing.
